Research
Charlotte holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts from Western University (Theatre Studies and Music), a Masters of Applied Literary Arts from the Memorial University of Newfoundland, and an MA in Communications and New Media Program from McMaster University. She is currently a SSHRC-funded PhD student in McMaster University’s Department of English and Cultural Studies.
To date, her research has explored topics including music and community in times of crisis; the relationships between experiential learning, community, and place; and constructions of hope and utopia in speculative fiction.
Charlotte’s doctoral research explores the potential of the fantasy genre to act as a site for reimagination and revisioning of the climate crisis, engaging the fields of speculative fiction and the environmental humanities.
